The Pin Wheel Table is a sculptural piece of illuminated furniture by designer Julien “WOW” Aleksandres, created as a personal homage to the architectural vision of Paul Rudolph. Inspired by Rudolph’s recurring pinwheel motif, the design translates a signature element of Modernist architecture into a striking interplay of geometry, light, and material.
More than a side table, the Pin Wheel illuminated table is an architectural object in its own right. Its precisely arranged, projecting base creates a dynamic geometric silhouette, while integrated LED illumination casts a subtle glow onto the surrounding floor, giving the table a distinctive presence after dark. The illuminated base and refined tabletop establish a compelling contrast between solid form and lightness.
Designed for discerning interiors, the Pin Wheel Table is particularly suited to contemporary residences, design-led hospitality environments, and spaces where furniture serves as both a functional element and a conversation piece. The tabletop can be specified with a stone top or luxuriously thick clear acrylic, and each table is custom-built, with dimensions tailored to the requirements of the project.
The Pin Wheel Table celebrates the continuing influence of Rudolph’s design legacy. A portion of its proceeds supports the Paul Rudolph Institute for Modern Architecture.
